And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:6-9

A Day of Discovery ... At Discovery Place

During a summer visit to Granny and Papa's we took the kids, including my nephew Michael, to Discovery Place in Charlotte. An education play ground, I can honestly say that the kids did not have a dull moment. They were enthralled from the moment we walked in the door, from the LCD displays, pulley experiments, architectural displays, and 3-D shark adventure. Even the cafe, all eco-friendly, was an amazing experience to them. So wonderful to be a kid! To see the wonder of God's creation in everything, from frogs to water wheels.

Father's Day

We had a great Father's day celebrating what a great Daddy we have! The kids carefully planned and decorated for Ryan's "surprise party", complete with homemade cards, decorations and party hats! We hid in strategic places in the house and yelled "SURPRISE" as Ryan walked through the door. We spent our whole day together, at the movies and then out to dinner. It was a lovely day. Ellie wrote this poem for her Daddy:
"Happy, happy Father's Day
I will say this every day.
You have presents, goodies too
All to say 'WE LOVE YOU!'
Happy, happy Father's Day
Hope it's full of joy we pray!"
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who loves our kids so very much!
